At The Green Room, we make handmade furniture rooted in a passion for good design and a commitment to sustainability. Our collections are inspired by the Swahili coast and crafted with care by our Tanzanian carpenters, using locally sourced timbers and materials. Each piece is handmade, built to last, and made with a low environmental impact.

Founded in 2009, we began as a small shop in Dar es Salaam selling art, plants and sustainably sourced homeware. Over the years we’ve grown into a space that brings together furniture, interiors, accessories and art — collaborating with talented artists and designers from across Tanzania and beyond. We believe in the power of design to transform a space. Today, our furniture can be found all over the world — bringing a touch of Tanzania wherever it goes.

Our showroom is located on the beautiful Slipway promenade, overlooking Msasani Bay, Dar es Salaam. Karibu!
