At The Green Room, we strive to create handmade furniture that reflects our passion for design and commitment to sustainability. Our collections are inspired by the beautiful East African coastline and created with care and attention by our Tanzanian carpenters. We use locally sourced timbers and materials, ensuring that each piece is unique, high-quality and has a low environmental impact.

Founded in 2009, the green room have been creating beautiful furniture pieces since we first opened our boutique shop in Dar es Salaam selling art, plants and sustainably sourced homeware. We collaborate with many talented artists and designers to bring the best interiors, accessories, and art in Tanzania under one roof. We believe in the power of design to transform spaces and bring joy to people’s lives. Today, our furniture can be found all over the world – bringing a touch of Tanzania wherever it goes.
